![]() Who Is Rotary?
Rotary is a worldwide network of inspired individuals who translate their passions into relevant social causes to change lives in communities. Made up of over 34,000 Rotary clubs around the world, Rotary International forms a global network of business, professional, and community leaders who volunteer their time and talents to serve communities locally and around the world – and form strong, lasting friendships in the process. Our motto, Service Above Self, exemplifies the humanitarian spirit of the 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide. Service efforts are directed toward Rotary's six main areas of focus: ~Peace and conflict prevention/resolution ~Disease prevention and treatment ~Water and sanitation ~Maternal and child health ~Basic education and literacy ~Economic and community development ![]() Our Sponsoring Rotary Club: The Rotary Club of Waterloo
The Rotary Club of Waterloo brings together people - from all walks of life - who want to use their expertise for good. We are people whose sense of responsibility inspires us to give back to our community and the communities that need our help. At Rotary, we connect for good — and form lifelong friendships in the process. We make a positive difference in the community. Locally, we help with the KidsAbility Centre for Childhood Development, Citizenship and Literacy Projects in our Schools, Wonders of Winter, Blues Festival, Oktoberfest, the Mayor's State of the City Address and the Rotary Peace Scholarship Initiative. Internationally we help with Global Polio Eradication and Productive Cooperatives in Haiti. Education and action lead to peace. We plan to invite Rotaractors to participate in our projects - community hands-on projects, fundraising projects and local and international service projects.
